in a pinch you can also run the over hand knot a third time which will make the knot better with really fragile tippets and a bit too heavy a leader.
tippet!…………………. leader!
classic!
@gunkid47 redington rod i just got for 200 is a very nice combo, it is an 8 weight and came with a nice reel and rod including fly line
Thanks so much for using the 2 different color ropes. I just started fly fishing and I’ve been looking for some new nots and you made it very easy to learn. Thanks.
Question, what kind of flies would you use to catch a carp? I had 3 huge carp today and not one of them would give a look at my fly. It was very frustrating. Thanks

I have landed 40lb Chinook on this knot.
Sorry Scott, I love your tips and they have helped me but after decades of fishing I’m positive the “barrel knot” is a much stronger knot for this use …. each cast could bring the fish of a lifetime .. why loose it to a surgeon knot ?

I loop to loop it , easy , strong , and interchangeable .
Doctors . . Fishermen . . same thing.
i allway’s use this knoy while fishing its a easy and strong knot!
I use this knot all the time, its a bit ugly, but its fast and easy and works great. specially when your in the middle of a hatch.
This knot is also ez and works great thank u
My personal preference is a (SCAFFOLD) knot or for slage ( A DUBBLE FISHERMANS KNOT)… It is actsholy a climbing not used to connect a life line to a saddle or even tie two lines together… I put my life on this knot every time I climb (I am a tree trimmer) So I climb a lot of trees… I have found that this particular knot I am talking about seems to work just as well for fishing as it dose for putting a life on a line. It is small (very hard to see) And very ez to tie.
wtf
cutie (:
